Check In

So… this is a little awkward. About three blogs ago I mentioned I'd be posting regularly and there should be no excuses. BUUUUTTTTT a lot, and I mean a lot, has happened since then.

After that last post, I got into a bit of a boat incident. The boat sank, and most of my things went down with it. I did have my computer, and I actually wrote a couple of blogs about it in the moment, but the internet in Laos was touch and go, so nothing actually got uploaded. Then I just started to get overwhelmed, since I ended up spending about a month and a half there and got completely backlogged.

Since then, I've also been to Cambodia and Vietnam, and the biggest change of all: I've come home. Honestly, I never would've guessed that. I figured I'd still be traveling, but after meeting a lot of fellow travelers along the way, I felt like it was time to come home, reset, and finally focus on just myself for a bit.

So what am I doing with that time? Getting back into shape. Learning to cook, well, I already know how to cook, more like trying new recipes to figure out what I actually like and don't. (Easier to have one bad meal split between three people than to eat the same bad meal solo for three days straight.) Going through the 5 TB of photos and videos I've built up. And, of course, getting back to the blog.

Coming up, there's going to be a lot of travel content. I want to get it all out before I start forgetting some of the major tips and tricks I picked up while traveling, along with a breakdown of what's actually worth it (and what's not) if you're planning a similar trip.
